Amanda began volunteering with us at L4G Community Centre in April 2021. She regularly helps out at the food pantry on a Wednesday. Here's her story about how the food pantry has helped.
"I began volunteering at the food pantry to try to build my confidence and try out different types of work. [L4G] staff recognised qualities within me that I had never thought or recognised that I had.
I really enjoy being the lead and given the responsibility to sort all the fresh items out before the shoppers arrive and it makes me feel part of the community connecting with others.
My confidence has grown and it has helped with my mental and physical well-being. I have now signed up to volunteer on other projects which has increased my knowledge, skills and experience."
